Mahmood leads a team of dynamic professionals in the GRC department comprising of internal audit, policy governance, and regulatory compliance (including Zakat, VAT and insurance).
Holding a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Bahrain, and is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Mahmood is a seasoned professional in the space of governance, risk management, control and assurance. He has worked for over 16 years with big 4 audit firms (Ernst & Young and KPMG) in multiple jurisdictions including Qatar, Bahrain, KSA and UAE. His last role was Director of Audit at KPMG, whereby he led and managed audits and advisory engagements at renowned banks, financial institutions and multinational private companies covering a wide range of industries, including airlines, real estate, investment management, medical care, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, and service companies.
